Title: High Bandwidth XSR Driven Optical Links for CPO

AI demands transformative interconnects for bandwidth & power. We present an industry-first validation of a commercially available, power-efficient extra-short reach (XSR) SerDes interfaced with a microring-based 8λ x 50Gbps NRZ WDM optical link through 100 meters of SM fiber. Modulator drivers & transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) are monolithically integrated with photonics. Hardware stabilization/wavelength tracking algorithms, demonstrate robust operation and polarization handling over temperature. This demonstration also showcases Lightmatter’s multi-wavelength muxed laser source which provides stabilized wavelength and power accuracy.
Lightmatter’s electro-optical chip extends the XSR SerDes reach from centimeters to hundreds of meters. Additionally, It enables stacking advanced CMOS electronics onto silicon photonics for 3D CPO, with integrated hardware-based control to realize extreme bandwidths and high energy efficiencies in a single package.
